I want to put my tv on the wall, I've brought the suitable brackets, but have just read on them that they shouldn't be used on plasterboard. Should i give it a go? Do they just put that on the label to cover themselves, or is it really going to be risky?

What they're saying is that you shouldn't try hanging the bracket on plasterboard/drywall alone. There are vertical studs every 16" or 24" behind the plasterboard. You simply have to find two of those studs and hang the bracket on the wall while driving the screws through the bracket and plasterboard and on into the studs. You can just use one stud provided it lands in the center of the TV bracket. That will ensure your television doesn't fall off the wall. I hope that helps.
