My wife and I are remodeling the bathroom and we really want to do it right.?

The bathroom is a full bath but not huge. Like 6x7 but enough room for the tub and shower.
We are replacing the old vanity with a very nice antique white vanity and mirror. It's very ornate - almost like a victorian style but we have a ranch home. We don't want the usual "junky" cabinet and mirror from the dept store but I was just wondering if this would be too fancy for a split level ranch home? The rest of the house is decorated in country style? Just wondering what kind of advice anyone may have? Thanks.

I am going to give you my real estate agent advice with an eye to a possible sale in the future.

If your home is country style...kitchen cabinets, flooring, exterior of home, then you will want to redo the bathroom in a way that compliments that.

If it's just your personal decor that's country style, then it does not matter so much what style you use in the bathroom.

Since it is a main bathroom, use the best quality that you can afford while keeping with the price/quality of the home.
If flooring and tub surround are also being replaced, use tile. Tiled bathrooms sell and look great.
