What do you do if the fire alarm handle does not stay down?

If there was a fire and you were pulling a fire alarm handle and when you start pulling the handle and it goes back up is this because you did not pull it far enough or is it because the alarm is broken? What would you say if the handle went back up? Could you pull it again and then go to another alarm if it does not work the first time? Why would a handle go back up if you pull it and the alarm starts to beep and then it stops because the handle went up?

They are designed so that very situation will never occur. So I wouldn't even worry about it.
