Hello: How do I wire an old gas ceiling light fixture. The wire will not go past the valve to the spigot.?

I cannot get electrical wire to pass through an old gas hanging ceiling fixture. I am having trouble getting past the gas valve up to where the new light socket would attach to the fixture. I cannot dismantle the fixture at all. The piping is clear but I cannot make the 90 degree turn. Any hints, suggestions would be appreciated.

you will probably have to run your wire around the outside of the spigot. you could try to drill a hole thru the spigot, which will not be seen and run the wire thru that way. you may need to use a thinner guage of wire after you drill the hole and try to put it thru with needle nose pliers
