Does anyone know how to unlock a padlock without keys?

I know it sounds shady but I swear it's on the up and up! I locked my keys in my steamer trunk at home. It was a gift from my great grandmother complete with an antique lock. I know boltcutters seem like the logical answer but I don't want to ruin the lock, I was hoping to pass it to my oldest daughter. I bought a lock picking set but I don't know how to use it and everyone I ask treats me like a criminal!! Please Help!!

There is ways to pick some locks mostly the smaller ones. Look it up on the net or play some video games like splinter cell. It would not be right for me to put some of these information here. Some locksmiths and law enforcers could be of much assistance. Otherwise i found paper clips and some keyrings with the right technique work better than lock picks. Other ways is to call the manufacturers, some locks have numbers you could send them and they could send you the key for it.
Anyway where there is a will there is a way.
