thinking of buying some solid marble statues for my garden and just wondered how they deal with the elements? do i need to seal the stone or just leave it? any help appreciated before i fork out!!
See if the seller has a sealant for them - so they can replace them if it does not work. LOL
Seriously, marble is very poruous, especially the grades used for carved statuary. It will stain, and acid in the rain and in bird droppings will erode it over time - so if you do not like the weathered look, you will need a stone sealant approved for use on marble and that may impact the appearance or the color over time.
