Ring Chandelier

so, i got my belly button pierced 6 months ago, it was doing fine and even when i changed it, it was still great. so i put a chandelier type ring in it, that hung down a little, which was kind of heavy. so a few days later after i put that in my belly button started hurting, and now it's red, and there's pus coming out of it, like it's infected. i don't know if i might of stretched it with the ring when i was sleeping, or because it was heavy, but i want to know how to get rid of the infection . . i took out the heavy one and put in just a tiny plain one made with surgical silver, but it's still not better. I've been using dragon mist to clean it, and tried hot water and salt, doesn't seem to be working.. anyone know what i can use to get rid of this?
i was reading that if there's puss coming out of it to leave it in, because it said the pus can't drain when you take it out, and it will close off and you'll end up with an abcess, i think that's what i was called.
change the ring...put the original back in...you may be allergic to that ring
