It is an primitive farm table from the mid 1800's and it is walnut. It has red paint or finish on the top and underneath the boards are unfinished. Some of the paint or finish of course has rubbed off. Can I use Liquid Gold or Formbys Oil on it or should I use something else. Some of the wood looks dry and I wanted to treat the wood underneath that is not finished plus the top.
You have something very valuable there!
I would honestly call Home Depot, Lowes & Ace (or another Mom & Pop hardware) to ask them.
Write down what each says, then take what they gave you (including prices) & go into one. Again, ask someone there the same question & compare to what was said before. Making such an important decision especially on antique furniture should not be left to chance!
