Moen Shower Stop Tube Question?

I installed a new Moen Chateau shower knob yesterday. I noticed that when you turn the water all the way off by pushing the knob back, the knob goes all the way back to the escutcheon plate. On our old knob, the knob would stop about a quarter inch to a half inch before touching the escutcheon when turning the water off.

Did you replace the valve assembly or just the handle? If you replaced the whole valve body, there's a good chance you mounted it too far back, or that it is a deeper body than the previous one.

You might try tightening up your escutcheon screws & see if that will pull it out more.
