Iron Mermaid

Im going to be a mermaid for halloween and i made my fin and it turned out awesumm i just want to iron in a few vertical lines like a fin would be. i tried it just normal and it didnt stick; so someone told me about using starch(: but i have superr slippery shimmery material will it still work????
