My period is usually heavy and last five days but suddenly it has been lasting for three days really light?

Is there something wrong does it mean anything?

Periods definitely vary. My god-sister barely needs to use tampons and pads for her period because she usually doesn't even manage to saturate it. Every girl is different and the body changes in mysterious ways. However, since you usually get heavy periods, it is interesting that it would suddenly become so light. Then again, I'm not sure how long you've had your period for which means it still might be unstable if you've only hit menarche recently. I've seen periods range anywhere from 3-8 days, so as long as it fall between those ranges, it is not "gravely abnormal."

Now for this to happen over a cycle or two should not be extremely concerning (unless you see other signs of abnormalities) but if it does go back to what you're used to, see a doctor just in-case... heck, there might not be anything wrong in which case, you're going to save a lot of changing of pads/tampons! However, just be sure that you keep some heavier products around, who knows if it suddenly decides to "go back to normal" on its own account and then you end up with a leak.

At any time if you're ever deeply concerned, you can seek a medical professional who will be able to provide the best information. Periods can be fairly inconsistent, especially when you have recently started your period. Even for women between menarche all the way to menopause, it is impossible to have 100% consistency. Activities you do, your physical/mental health, stress levels, foods you eat and so much more contributes to changes in your period. If you want, give it some time to see if it goes back to the "way it was" - otherwise, talk to a trusted medical professional who can verify any concerns you may have!

If all is well and your period is THAT much lighter than before, congrats, because that's a lot less menstrual supplies and heavy flow to deal with!
