My cat somehow got shut into my bathroom on accident and while inside she opened a drawer in front of the door. i can only open the door about half an inch and the only thing I have found long enough to fit through the door is a blind turner which bends if you apply pressure. The hinges are also on the inside of the door. The cat is meowing constantly, how do i get the drawer shut or the door open? This is crazy!
I can't find anything long enough that will fit inside the door. No knife long enough, and no skewer. lol, i bet the cat won't get in the bathroom anymore
Yeah, no fireplace, and i'm renting so i really don't want to break anything. Plus, can't call the landlord, not supposed to have cats. Maybe this is why, lol
I got her out! used a wrench to work the drawer out of the cabinet until it fell on the floor. really had no other option. Thanks for the answers!
Use a long kitchen knife (wrap it in aluminum foil to protect kitty from the blade) or metal skewer to close the drawer. Or, if the opening is large enough, you could use a broomstick. A sturdy plastic coat hanger may work as well. Your best bet will be to close the drawer somehow. If all else fails, try going in through the window (if you have one and it's unlocked). It could be worse. One of mine somehow got trapped between the bathroom cabinet and the floor once. I eventually had to cut a hole in the bottom of the cabinet to get her out.
LOL... I know it's frustrating. Do you have a fireplace? If so, maybe a fireplace poker will work. Or, perhaps an extra long screwdriver. A tent pole, maybe?
